I was born and raised in northern New York. To say that I have been drawing all of my life is an understatement. The appreciation of all art forms started at a very young age. The first time I saw a tattoo was when I was probably around 4 years old, I accidentally walked in on my aunt taking a bath and she had a tattoo on her breast and I was absolutely amazed. Since that moment I wanted tattoos. I would find crackerjack press-ons and put them everywhere.

In December of 1996, shortly after my 18th birthday, I got hired at a local shop as a receptionist. In January I was asked if I wanted to learn how to tattoo. I was nervous but willing to take that leap. My apprenticeship consisted of how to set up a machine and I was working on the public shortly after. Things are a lot different nowadays when it comes to learning. I can honestly say that at first I didn’t take tattooing seriously. It wasn’t until the birth of my first son in 1998 that I realized that I needed to make a change for him. That’s when I realized that I was doing something that I loved and I was good at it so why not make a career out of it. I was content with my position in life until my second son was born in 2002.At that point I knew that I had to change my history to make their future better.

In spring of 2002, I opened Eternal Ink. I was scared at first but I planted my feet and knew that it was the right choice for my family. I would not fail for them. I had a lot of wonderful experiences and met a vast clientele. I have customers from all over the world. Since I’ve opened the doors I‘ve broadened my horizons and my artistic abilities have flourished.

In spring of 2004, I bought a new building. It was a more convenient location for my customers. I also took on another artist, Autumn. I worked alone for quite some time. Although I enjoy being alone, I also enjoy the company, the help, the inspiration, and the friendship she brought me. All of those qualities are hard to find in someone, so needless to say, I am lucky. Unfortunately, she only stayed with us for a short time. In November 2005, she moved to Maine. There, she is currently working at Riverview Tattoo & Body Piercing in Brewer, Maine.
As well, in Nov. 2005, I took on Cynthia Tyler. A local artist, she starting tattooing in Oct. 2000 and has a great appreciation for the art.

As of now, we are still making improvements on the appearance of the property, still striving and learning new skills everyday. One of the best accomplishments a person can achieve in life is a good name, and that is what we have worked so hard for.

On that note, every time I give someone a tattoo I give them a little piece of my passion, my heart, to take with them for eternity. This is where I get the name ETERNAL INK. “I live to tattoo, not tattoo for a living.”
